Delhi-Chicago Air India flight diverted to Canada following bomb threat

NEW DELHI, Oct. 15 (Xinhua) — A Chicago-bound Air India flight was Tuesday diverted to an airport in Canada following a bomb threat, officials said.
The flight, which took off from Delhi, received a bomb threat online and was subsequently diverted to Canada, where it landed at the Iqaluit Airport.
However, the threat turned out to be a hoax.
On Monday, an Air India flight from Mumbai to New York was diverted to Delhi following a bomb threat. However, nothing suspicious was found during the checking.
In June, India’s civil aviation security body, the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security, proposed a five-year flying ban on those who issue such threats. ■
